A Holy Home

It’s easy to view dishes as displeasing.

It’s not hard to hate doing mountains of laundry.

It’s even easier to get tired of figuring out what’s for dinner every night.

But, wait, are these really BAD things..?

It’s so easy to get into a ‘just get it done’ mindset when doing day to day things like cleaning, cooking, work, and trying to spend time with God and your spouse!

But this can be a dangerous place to be.

Building a foundation of worship and a focus locked on the Lord starts in the home, and the hearts that live in it.

Proverbs 31:27-28:

“She watches over the affairs of her household and does not eat the bread of idleness. Her children arise and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her.”

As women of God we are called to honor the Lord by keeping our home in a state that reflects Him.

We are in turn blessed for cultivating an atmosphere that points back to the Lord!

Colossians 3:23 serves as a reminder to do all things, including caring for your home, with a heart of worship:

“Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters.”

This perspective reminds us even daily tasks are acts of faith and devotion.

Everything we do should be an act of worship for the Lord. And in all we do we must be diligent to check our heart posture.

Remember today as you go about your routine to pray over your home, the hearts who dwell under the roof, and thank God for the fact He has given you this honor of stewarding these blessings and granting you the role of being a HOME BUILDER!

Do all things out of a heart of worship to God.
